Sportsbook – How do you like the Red Sox Now?

Tags: Now, Red Sox

Do you remember when the Boston Red Sox were 2-10 and a disaster in sportsbook betting?.

As the Toby Keith song goes “How Do You Like Me Now?”  The Red Sox have won 13 of their last 17 games and are within a half a game of the New York Yankees for first place in the American League East. Boston definitely looks like the World Series contender that oddsmakers at the Internet sportsbook thought they would be this season.

Francona Didn’t Panic While many baseball fans around the country may have panicked with the Red Sox starting slowly, manager Terry Francona did not. He took all of the criticism in stride and calmly got the team going in the right direction.  The Red Sox didn’t win a World Series title with Francona for no reason. He is an excellent manager who does not overreact.

Red Sox will be the League’s Best Boston just went into Cleveland and took two of three from the best team in baseball. They would have swept the Indians in all three games if Daniel Bard had not blown the first game. The Red Sox pitching has been brilliant recently led by Josh Beckett and Jon Lester. Clay Buchholz has also been really good. The Red Sox have the best record in the league in the month of May at 16-7 vs. the odds at Sbgglobal. Boston does have some issues at the back end of their rotation as both John Lackey and Daisuke Matsuzaka are hurt but neither one was pitching well anyway so putting Tim Wakefield into the rotation is a better choice than either of those two.

Gonzalez Looking Like an MVP When a team has money they can go out and get the best players in the league and Boston did that in the off-season by signing Adrian Gonzalez.  He has been even better than they hoped. He has a .340 average, nine homer runs and leads the league in doubles and in RBIs.  And he plays a great first base. Gonzalez had virtually no one in San Diego to help him in the lineup but in Boston he has players at the top like Jacoby Ellsbury and Dustin Pedroia and players behind him like Kevin Youkilis and David Ortiz. And Carl Crawford is finally starting to come around as well.  It is hard not to like the Red Sox in baseball odds at the sportsbook right now.
