England Now 1/16 For Six Nations

Tags: Nations

England are now 1/16 for the 6 Nations (Ladbrokes) following their win over France at Twickenham and also 8/11 for the Grand Slam as the result today sees France move out to 7/1 for the tournament with Ireland 33/1 chances in advance of their match with Scotland (3/1 for the wooden spoon).

The firm are also breathing a huge sigh of relief after Chris Ashton’s try (duly celebrated with the ‘swallow -dive’) was disallowed, saving the bookies on two fronts as not only had he been well backed to score in the game but a try with the textbook celebration would have been a 5 figure loser after the celebration special had been particularly well backed in the run up to the game.

Alex Donohue of Ladbrokes said: “The 6 Nations now looks like England’s to lose as they go longer odds-on for the championship. We’re just thankful that Ashton’s try was disallowed as the swallow-dive was backed off the boards.”

Ladbrokes latest betting:

6 Nations winner: England – 1/16 France – 7/1 Ireland – 33/1 Wales – 50/1

Grand Slam: England – 8/11 No winner – evens

Triple Crown: England – 8/11 Ireland – 5/1 No winner – 7/4

Wooden Spoon: Italy – 2/9 Scotland – 3/1 Ireland – 66/1 Ireland – 66/1
